When you think of Ethiopia, you think of high-quality producing regions such as "Yirgacheffe" and "Jinma", but we have now received naturally processed coffee from " Guji ", a producing region that is different from the other two and is appearing for the first time at Coffee Mamebou!

*We are also introducing " Habasirasa District Washt " from "Guji Hambela".

In fact, the altitude here is 2,400m!? It's a very high altitude.

How high is 2,400m? It's about the same altitude as the 5th station of Mt. Fuji.

It's amazing that coffee is grown in such a place. But the quality is so high. I wonder what kind of effort goes into producing it...

This is,

"Drying racks (African beds)" for drying harvested coffee beans in sunlight.

A sheet is laid on top of this "tree" and the beans are spread out to dry.

The owner, Mr. Mekuria, has been involved in the coffee business since he was young.

That said, they did not own any farmland, but rather worked to collect the cherries (coffee beans) harvested by each farmer and deliver them to a nearby refinery.

Thanks to his hard work and great respect for his farmers, he has grown into one of the largest distributors in the Yirgachefe Guji region.

On top of that, I began to feel that in order to improve the quality of the coffee and increase the added value, I needed to have my own refinery. (At this stage, it was pretty impressive.)

The Guji and Yirgacheffe refineries that were established in this way became known to exporters as producing high quality coffee.

Furthermore, they decided to export the refined coffee themselves.

However, they will not expand too quickly, but will instead focus on further improving quality.

You can sense nuances of dark grapes and concentrated red wine.

A very well-balanced, rich, naturally processed coffee.

*Natural processing : This refers to the method in which, after harvesting coffee beans, the coffee cherries (so named because they resemble cherries) are spread out thinly and dried in the sun.

Sometimes they are spread out on a brick patio, and often they are dried on raised racks (African beds).

The taste is fruity, with a wine-like aroma and aroma, and some even have impressions of blueberries or strawberries.

*We visited the country in November 2018.

About the beans

I'm a little busy with university so I can't often go to the store, so I bought the beans instead.
It had a sweet strawberry-like aroma, no off-flavors, but a strong fruitiness and a strong sweetness. It was a delicious coffee. I enjoyed it both ways, whether I brewed it cleanly or heavy. It was delicious.

Thank you for your order despite your busy schedule.
And what's more, you enjoy brewing it in different ways!
I'm sure the coffee beans are happy too.
I hope I can get some rest...
